My mask story…

My mask story…

In April 2020 when wearing ‘face coverings’ switched from not necessary to ‘recommended’ by Dr. Fauci (and the CDC) I tried many to find the one that was most wearable ALL DAY LONG.  I have worn procedure masks (aka surgical masks) since I started working in research in 1996. However, the new normal of wearing masks all the time, and outside of the OR or procedure room brought a new discomfort with these ‘medical grade’ masks.  Someone sent me a sample of the white cloth mask I am wearing here, and I started wearing it everyday.  It just felt most comfortable on my face and didn’t slip off my nose while I was talking to patients ALL DAY LONG.  It also didn’t gap at my cheeks, or my chin, and i could squeeze the nose tight enough so my glasses didn’t fog.  Plus, it was tri-layer and washable, and had a built in filter that didn’t need replacing.  Patients asked me where I got my mask, and that gave me the idea–necessity is the mother of invention after all.  I had the masks produced with my hand-drawn signature symbol embroidered on the cheek– a heart with angel wings– to give to each of my patients.  And even if you aren’t my patient one mask gets shipped free with every order of ARCH by Dr. Krista Archer (or buy them alone).  We WILL all get through this together while we WEAR our masks.
